(Reminder: Have you taken the poll?)
Reading good writing is one way to learn more about the craft, so I like to point out exceptional blog posts. This is the first in a new regular series where I’ll do just that. I’ll be featuring particularly good writing from doctors and other health-care professionals.
Here are my picks for this round.
- StorytellERdoc: “A Love Story“
- Medicine and Other Stuff: “Beauty“
- Reflections in a Head Mirror: “The Small Things“
- Doctor Grumpy in the House: “Beating My Head on the Desk“
Do you have a blog I should keep an eye on? Please post it below.
I’m a freelance writer, editor and ghostwriter. One of my specialties is working with doctors and other medical professionals. Read more here.
You might enjoy my book, “The Mandolin Case.” The subtitle is “Country Doctors, Honest Lawyers, and True Music.”
The story is a medical legal mystery solved by local musicians. It has many lessons.

Your four picks for this round are four lovely stories….. well, OK, three lovely, touching stories and one funny story.
The father and son in “A Love Story” was touching. The restoration of the 85-year-old man’s hearing was charming.
The happiest story was “Beauty” Too many young girls opt to keep babies that they are ill-equipped to handle. Too many loving families are being deprived of an opportunity to adopt. Yes, it is a story of great pain. And also one of great love and happiness.
And Dr. Grumpy is a hoot!
Thanks, Leigh Ann, for sharing these with us.
